Chlorella and Vitiligo

Green blood - chlorella

Green blood - chlorella

As I mentioned in previous articles, oxidative stress is one of the main causes of Vitiligo. We fight against oxidative stress by a healthy diet, good sleep, exercise and especially antioxidants.
What are these antioxidants? They are substances able to protect us from harmful free radicals in the body, which arise due to bad lifestyle and polluted air.

So, let's take a closer look at the currently strongest and best-known antioxidant. Yes, it is chlorella, which is attributed to innumerable positive effects on our body and I would like to mention just those that are directly related to Vitiligo.

Of all green plants, chlorella has the highest proportion of valuable chlorophyll, it contains a large number of amino acids, vitamins and minerals, whose concentration is significantly higher than that of terrestrial plants. It belongs to the group "super food". It effectively helps the body get rid of toxins and heavy metals.
Studies have shown that the green dye is preventive of cancer, slows tumor growth, prevents unwanted changes at the cellular level, and inactivates a number of carcinogens and mutagens in the body. It also regulates the function of the thyroid gland, which is responsible for the hormonal balance of the organism. It brightens the skin and speeds up the regeneration of the skin exposed to UV radiation.

Chlorella is produced in two forms, let's compare them and find out what they are different.

Powder

Positives

+ better price
+ higher chlorella concentration

Cons:

- taste
- longer preparation

Thus, the tablets are logically a bit more expensive but have a lower concentration. However, more people prefer this form for the simple reason that the tablets have no taste and are easy to use.

What is the composition of this miraculous green alga, also called super food?

Magnesium is part of the green color of chlorophyll, making chlorella a rich source of it.
Chlorophyll accounts for approximately 1-4% of the algae content. Other important minerals are phosphorus, potassium, calcium or iron. Of the vitamins, it is worth mentioning the high content of B-group vitamins, especially vitamin B12 , which, in bioactive form, is present only in foodstuffs of animal origin in addition to algae. Chlorella is also a source of vitamin C and E, folic acid and carotenoids.

Conclusion

Let's summarize the effects of chlorella on Vitiligo:

  • a powerful antioxidant and a fighter against oxidative stress, which is one of the main causes of vitiligo
  • has a high content of B- group vitamins, mainly B9 and B12, the deficiency of which has been associated with vitiligo for many years
  • regulates the function of the thyroid gland (hormone stability), which is in many cases responsible for vitiligo
  • regenerates skin exposed to UV radiation (UVB phototherapy, sun)

So, let's try to surprise our organism and indulge it with chlorella instead of morning coffee.
